How do I care for my Peaches?
To care for your premium peaches when you get them home, place the peaches that are ripe and the ones you want to ripen right away on the counter out of direct sunlight. It may take 1 or 2 days to become soft to the touch. Refrigerate the peaches you are not ready to eat and pull them out when you are ready for them to ripen. For additional information go to www.candrfarms.com.
Can I freeze my peaches?
Yes, you can. Here's how!
- Place 2 to 3 whole peaches in a large freezer bag. Do not wash, pit or slice.
- The peaches will freeze solid
- In the winter, take a peach out of the bag and hold it under warm water. The peach skin will peal off easily.
- Put the skinned peach in a small dish. The peach thaws, creating 1/2 dish peach juices and leaving the whole peach looking as it did before it was frozen.
- Add cottage cheese, or whatever topping you would like.
