WellSpring - Young Adults Program – Over the years that Wellspring has been in existence, our members have volunteered on numerous projects with them (One of our Rotarians played Santa for their Christmas Gala!) and in their office. We have also supported them financially with funds from our different fund-raising events.
Navajo – Our Club has been working with the Navajo (Dine') for almost a decade to help support their community by collecting donations and driving them to the Navajo Reservation in Northeast Arizona. We have shipped truck loads of clothes, furniture, kitchenware, and other items to support their Thrift Shop. Even during the pandemic, while the Reservation was completely closed to visitors, members drove a truck of goods to the edge of the reservation where it was carried on by the Navajo (Dine') Attorney General Staff for distribution.
We also have provided beautiful hardbound dictionaries to 3rd graders in the Chinle, Arizona, area. We raise funds for the books, then drive the books 500 miles to give the dictionaries one-on-one to each of the third graders. We have supplied more than 1500 dictionaries to the children! We just (March 2024) also delivered 40 bicycles to be given to children on the reservation for their use for fun and for transportation.
Maasai – The Maasai are a tribe of people who live in Kenya and Tanzania. One of our members was lucky enough to have met and to have become friends with the Chief of an area of 5000 Maasai people.
Over time, the Chief and other Maasai have come to visit us, and we have sent many people, Rotarians, Students, Relatives, and Friends, to visit them in Kenya. We have also raised funds that have been used to build a school (named after Castle Rock – Castle Rock DayCare Center), built a well, provided feeding programs through drought and provided books, computers and other school and medical supplies. Through a Rotary connection, a grant is in process to diversify our Maasai friends diet and revenue stream through a chicken farm which should begin later in 2024.
As a part of Rotary International, our club has contributed to the eradication of polio across the globe. Rotary members worldwide have contributed more than $2.1 billion and countless volunteer hours to protect nearly 3 billion children in 122 countries from this paralyzing disease.
Our Castle Rock High Noon Rotarians have helped raise funds to build custom-made homes to accommodate Veterans who have very specific needs. We have helped fund programs for Veterans and Military personnel to go on hunting and outdoor programs.
